Latina Luncheon

May 6, 2011- 11:30am - 1:30pm

MG-Angela-Salinas
Major General Angela Salinas

El Concilio's Annual Latina Luncheon will be held on May 6, 2011 from 11:30am to 1:30pm at the Brookside Country Club. It's a celebration of achievements by Latina women locally and elsewhere.

This annual event will feature Major General Angela Salinas, one of the highest ranking Latinas in the military. She has achieved much against all odds and is a popular, inspiring speaker.

For nearly a decade El Concilio has hosted the Annual Latina Luncheon to celebrate accomplished Latinas and provide scholarships to deserving local students. This is an inspirational event geared toward motivating our young Latina women to recognize their own strengths and strive toward their full potential. While the event draws eager and enthusiastic participation, the event also serves to connect individuals with like-minded community members. All the proceeds from this event are used to fund El Concilio's scholarship program for local students, which is one of the most ambitious in San Joaquin County.

In addition to the featured speaker there will be other local Latina leaders that will be part of the event. Informational booths and displays will be available as well.

This year El Concilio will mark its 43rd year in providing numerous and much needed services to the communities of San Joaquin and Stanislaus Counties. Even though most of our programs benefit the local Hispanic population, we also provide services to anyone who is in need, regardless of ethnic origin. As the largest advocacy agency in the area for the Hispanic population, our work has been recognized by the Hispanic Business Magazine and we are listed as one of the top 25 non-profits in the entire nation for the last five years in a row.

Please plan now to attend this wonderful event. Tickets are $35 per person and are available by calling Annette Sanchez at El Concilio - (209) 644-2627.  You can also email your reservations to: asan@elconcilio.org .

Thank you for supporting this important community event to help local students.
